Wabi-Sabi in Irvine

“Wabi-Sabi in Irvine” Photo by Becky White Cochran

Becky White Cochran, of Lexington, Ky., snapped this shot at Snug Hollow Farm, a bed and breakfast in Irvine that hosts retreats and workshops. Ecofriendly and vegetarian, Snug Hollow “embodies the wabi-sabi philosophy,” according to Cochran. “Peaceful, ‘unplugged’ (no cell phone service, no TV), just simplicity and communion with nature.” Innkeeper Barbara Napier is “delightful,” she added. The grounds include two cabins, one of which is a-160 year old chestnut log cabin, along with two large, lovely rooms in the main farmhouse.

  1. this photo invites me to enter into the “eden” like sanctuary
makes me want to pull out the ragged old quilt from the back of my car
spread it out and lie under the heavens like a kid again watching the clouds move along..Peace inviting that is for sure!
    great capture!
